Alan trained at the Bristol Old Vic and started playing around with radio in the old BBC studio that the school owned. He is a young, experienced, actor, originally from Manchester with a warm, chatty vocal tone and a great ear for accents & dialects. His strongest accents include Dublin (he’s from an Irish Family), Lancashire, Yorkshire, Liverpool, Bristol, London and many more.
Alan played Nurse Nicky Van Barr in BBC series Holby City, his other television work includes guest roles in the BBC’s Doctors & Land Girls and Mammoth Screen’s Inspector Morse prequel Endeavour. Theatre work includes Solstice, Twelth Night, Taming of the Shrew and As You LIke It with the Royal Shakespeare Company, Romeo and Juliet at The Globe (European Tour), Once upon a time in Wigan and Sixty Five Miles for Paines Plough. He is further developing his love for comedy by playing one of the lead roles in Harry Hill’s new musical I Can’t Sing at The London Palladium.
